Anyone been told through email that a relative that you did not know of?

Has ped away in England and that they have left you an 8.5 million dollar estate with no heir. And because you have the same last name you are able to get the property as long as you can prove your identity. It sounds like a scam to me this guy that is the supposed attorney has sent me 2 emails regarding this. I responded to the first one and he wanted some more of my info nothing like a social # though just my name and employment info. He siad that I need to go to the bank in London or he can take care of it for me. I live in the USA, What do you think?
