Fallout 3: Riley's Rangers Hostility Problem?

Hey, i found underworld and talked to Riley, went through the hospital, into the statesman. I got the fission battery and fixed the elevator. Now, i went through the room with all the super mutants in and fought them off with the rangers. Because i forgot to save before i fixed the lift, i saved now. Then i talked to one of the rangers who said they would meet me back at the outpost. But when i left the hotel a box popped up saying that i was now hostile with the rangers. So i thought it must be a glitch or something and a load would sort it out, however when i loaded the game from my earlier save the hostile box pops up straight away, while the rangers are still in the room. And i cant load from any earlier because my autosave was overwritten when i left the hotel. The only other thing that is strange is that the ranger with the minigun called Eugene is not there, but i dont remember her dying, and cant find a body. Is there any way to solve this problem? or at a last resort any way to make up with the rangers at their outpost? Cheers
