When using Shrink to only record "Main Movie" does it have to back it up onto your Computer?

I used Shrink for many years and it is very good for a free .program.All copying programs as far as i know needs space on ure pc to be able to encode the film.Just delete it when the films put onto DVD. Due to some Legal issues dvd shrink was forced to stop releasing there software so as far as i know you can only get old versions of it.Alot of new films Shrink cant do because of the encryption.for about 3 years now i have been using ANYDVD to rip film to my pc and CloneDVD2 to copy it.Having said that there has been an odd film that even these couldnt do so i am currently trying DVDfab5 which so far seems ok.All these programs can be got off piratebay
