Cough, flu or what ?

Have a realy bad cough i cant seem to get rid of for a week and a half now. Is there a flu going? Dry cough no phlegm headache just generally feeling ill - anybody else know if it;s "going"? I'm non smoker n just taking some benelyn 4 flu tabs
